Can we visit the puppies before we take it home on Puppy Choosing Day?
We would love to be able to allow people to come visit before the pups are ready to go to their new homes, but unfortunately the risk for disease is just too high! Parvo ( & other viruses) are highly contagious and we want to do everything possible to keep our puppies healthy! So we cannot have visitors until the day of puppy choosing & pick-up. This also gives our Labrador Retriever puppies a few weeks to build up immunity from the vaccination they receive at 6 weeks of age. We update our website/facebook/instagram each week with new pictures of the pups as they grow.
What is Limited Registration?
"Limited Registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. A dog registered with an AKC Limited Registration shall be ineligible to be entered in a breed competition in a licensed or member dog show. It is eligible, however, to be entered in any other licensed or member event. These events include: Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Agility and Earthdog." Do we get to "pick" a puppy?
Puppies are picked in the order of deposits received. We like to encourage people to choose their puppy by personality and how they will fit into their particular family scenario.
If you have 1st or 2nd pick of a puppy, you should expect to have a early appointment on puppy pick-up day, and so forth.

Almond Blossom Labrador Retrievers puppies are ready to leave our home well socialized at 8 weeks.
Shot Record: We will administer the 7/8 week shots on all our Labrador Retriever puppies for sale and we will supply you with a medical record of dates and medications/dewormers your puppy has received. You will need to take a stool sample to your vet or a VIP Pet Care Clinic the first week after your puppy goes home. Your puppy will need its next round of shots at 12 and 16 weeks. If you don’t have a veterinarian already, you should decide what vet you will use or call 800.427.7973 to find the VIP clinic nearest you (VIP Petcare provides a wide variety of preventative care services, all administered by a licensed veterinarian, hosted at local pet stores).
Your Puppy Food and Supplies: You will want to be prepared with the food the puppies are eating now. A sudden change of food will cause digestive problems at this age. Because your puppy's digestive system is sensitive, we do not recommend giving your puppy any treats until 6 months old. Use the puppy's food as a treat when training. We will supply you with a small bag of the puppy's food on the take home day. We highly recommend keeping your Labrador Retriever puppy on the Large Breed Puppy Purina puppy food until 2 years of age. And then at 2 years switch to Large Breed Purina dog food.
Probiotics: We recommend giving your puppy probiotics for the first two weeks to help with the changing environments. We like to also give a teaspoon of 100% canned pumpkin with the probiotics. Recommended is Doc Roys GI Synbiotics which you can order from RevivalAnimal.com or Amazon. Even with preventative care, expect your puppy to have a loose stool every so often because they explore the world through their mouths and therefore ingest things that affect their immature digestive system. Giardia, Coccydia, and roundworms are all common parasites that puppies get and are effectively treated with dewormers.
Dog Crate: We are starting your puppy's crate training, so if you plan to continue using a crate, you will want to purchase this item beforehand.
Puppy Proof In and Around Your Home: Before your puppy comes home puppy proof inside and outside your home. Don’t leave shoes or anything you don’t want your puppy to chew on laying around the floor. Make sure your puppy does not have access to electrical cords, they love to chew on them. If your puppy is a yellow, black or chocolate lab they all love to play, so having lots of chew toys around helps a bunch!
Arranging for Pick up: If we haven't already scheduled your pick up time, please email me so I can coordinate that with you. Pick up times are usually scheduled one to two weeks before your puppy is ready to go home. Email jeanette@almondblossomlabradors.com
American Kennel Club: We have registered the litter with the American Kennel Club (AKC). When you pick up your puppy, we will give you the necessary paperwork to register (by mail or online) as the owner of your dog, so you can receive the official AKC pedigree papers.
